The 2025 DL Accounts Fundraiser

What is CMN?
CMN is an abbreviation of Congenital Melanocytic Naevus, which is a genetic mutation that presents as a type of birthmark that may appear in newborn babies, and can cover up to 80% of the body. The birthmarks can also be present internally and can cause neurological difficulties and complications. It can be limiting for individuals and affect issues such as mobility and sleep, in worse cases it can also be fatal. Caring Matters Now is a charity that works to support families affected by CMN, emotionally, socially and financially. They also aim to raise international awareness of the condition and fund research in order to help develop effective treatments.

Why have we chosen Caring Matters Now?
Caring Matters Now has been selected by DL Accounts as our chosen charity because the directors have close family friends that are impacted by this rare genetic condition. We know from personal experience how Congenital Melanocytic Naevi (CMN) can affect now only the individual children and adults, but also the family as a whole. As a result, we were inspired to support this meaningful cause and help to raise awareness.
What are we doing to raise money?
Our directors, Dexter and Siobhan, are embarking on a mighty running challenge and will be completing a massive 5 events to raise money:
23rd March 2025 – Sheffield half marathon
11th May 2025 – Plymouth half marathon
7th September 2025 – London half marathon
5th October 2025 – Cardiff half marathon
2nd November 2025 – New York marathon
The DL Accounts team will also be doing other charity events throughout the year in order to raise money for Caring Matters Now. This includes coffee mornings, prize raffles and hosting a quiz night!
